Who is The Hollywood Republican?

I am a lone Republican voice cast in the Land of Hollywood.

I choose to remain anonymous as I prefer debate in the blogosphere as opposed to face-to-face — on my own terms. Open-minded. Judiciously fair. Compassionate.

It’s not that I cannot debate face-to-face, as I am an accomplished public speaker, but rather the political landscape of the Land of Hollywood is composed of mainly angry Democrats who choose to yell, scream, curse, ridicule, mock, attack and retaliate against viewpoints other than their own. Exceptionally well if you are a Republican.

I know what it means to ‘do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same.’

I know what it means to ‘hear the call to public service.’

I know what it means to be homeless and hungry, with one last thread of hope in which to drape myself.

I know what it means to take the life of another. Justifiably. Defensively.

I know what it means to see a life taken, in front of you and for nothing more than malice.

I know what it means to give your word; your bond; your pledge; to another fellow of mankind. And, to keep it.

I know what it means to have your morals, faith, hopes and dreams shattered by another.

I’ve worked all my life in the Land of Hollywood, save for those teenage years of searching, seeking for what I really wanted to do for a living — a passion.

I profess no absolute knowledge of fact in these writings to come, rather I profess to be passionate about my opinions.

So, here it is, on this calm and serene night of the twentieth of January, two thousand and nine, A.D., I embark upon a search for answers, if only for the advancement of my own knowledge.
